How does the Refer-a-Friend program work?

It's easy. Join the program by visiting https://referrals.t-mobile.com and enter your name, email and phone number. Once you've joined, you'll see a unique link to share with your friends and family or use the internal sharing tools to start referring.

Once referred, your friends will follow 4 simple steps:

  1. Click on their unique link unique link
  2. Enter their full name, email address and phone number they are bringing over
  3. Activate on a new account with a qualifying T-Mobile branded postpaid monthly phone plan, within 15 days of accepting the referral
  4. Bring their existing number from a qualifying postpaid account (port-in). The number must be the same number you included in your referral, and the person you refer can't have been a recent T-Mobile or Sprint customer (within the past 90 days)

After they have been active for 45 days, we will send a $50 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard® to your email address for each new account you successfully referred. Your account must be in good standing when the referral is processed in order to receive a card. Please allow 15 business days after the referred friend or family completes the process for delivery. You can score up to $500 in a calendar year when you bring people over to T-Mobile.

Who is eligible for the Refer-A-Friend program?

To send referrals you must be a customer on a T-Mobile or Sprint postpaid monthly phone plan (including businesses with 12 or fewer lines) with active Sprint or T-Mobile service in good standing. Anyone who has service with T-Mobile qualifies for this program.

Do I get a $50 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard® for every account that switches or for every line that switches?

You'll receive a $50 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard® for each new qualifying account you refer, and you can score up to $500 in a calendar year when you bring people over to T-Mobile.

Is there a limit on how many lines I can refer?

No, we will reward you for the first 10, up to $500 but you are welcome to refer as many friends and family as you wish.

Can I enter my referral at the same time my friend or family signs up for T-Mobile?

No, your friend or family must have accepted your referral prior to signing up for T-Mobile.

I've got a friend who had T-Mobile before and left, can I get credit for referring them back?

If it has been at least 90 days since they were a T-Mobile or Sprint customer and they meet the other requirements when activating a new account, then they qualify as a referral.

Can I refer friends and family from T-Mobile prepaid or Metro by T-Mobile?

To qualify for the Refer-a-Friend program, your referral must bring their existing number from another qualifying postpaid carrier and activate service on a T-Mobile branded postpaid monthly phone plan.

How long do I have to join T-Mobile?

Once you have accepted your referral and registered, you have 15 days to complete your port-in (bring your number) and sign up for T-Mobile service. If you do not complete the process within 15 days, you are no longer eligible to participate in the program.

What if I am referred by multiple friends or family?

Referred friends and family can only accept 1 referral offer.

Can I refer someone I add on to my account?

No, to be eligible for the referral the referee must activate a new account on a qualifying T-Mobile branded postpaid monthly phone plan.

Can I refer someone who wants to bring their own phone?

Yes, the person you refer can either buy a new phone from T-Mobile or bring their own phone if it will work on the T-Mobile network. Either way you get your $50 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard® once they complete the referral requirements.

Once I activate my account, can I share the program with friends and family?

Yes, once your port is complete, you are eligible to start referring friends, family, or business associates. After they have been active for 45 days, we will send a $50 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard® to your email address for each new account you successfully referred, up to $500 in a calendar year.

What if my question is not answered here?

If you are a T-Mobile customer and have questions about your T-Mobile bill or services, or would like to update your T-Mobile billing address, please call 1-800-937-8997 or dial 611 from your T-Mobile wireless phone, or visit https://www.t-mobile.com/support.

If you have further questions about your referral, please complete the contact us form below for help. We'll respond by email within 48 hours. Please note if you are a referrer and have not signed in the T-Mobile Referral Program or if you are a referee and have not unlocked the offer from the referral T-Mobile customer sent to you, you must sign in the program or unlock the offer first before you contact us otherwise we will not be able to help as we cannot find you in the program.
